Dr. Mark
Turshen

Lead Physician

Dr. Mark Turshen completed his medical residency at Brown University and has been practicing full scope family medicine at his private practice in Rhode Island since 2015. In this practice, he has been able to work intimately with patients of all ages in an attempt to assist them in living their healthiest and most fulfilling lives. Through that lens, Dr. Turshen has seen some of the limitations of current treatment options for various mental health and neurologic conditions. After researching the helpful therapy Joshua’s son underwent, Dr. Turshen felt that he could further treat patients with this newer, cutting-edge technology. BrainWaves NRC is the culmination of this goal.

Joshua
Slepkow

Director of Operations&
Neuro Technician

Joshua Slepkow has spent the better part of the last two decades as a partner at a local Rhode Island law firm. Several years ago, Josh’s son was diagnosed with an extremely rare genetic disorder. Josh and his wife discovered MeRT® technology and their son received treatment at a Brain Treatment Center location for 10 weeks. With positive results, Josh decided he could better serve his community by transitioning careers and opening BrainWaves Neuro Restoration Center. Interestingly, Josh graduated Gettysburg College with a major in Psychology. The founding of BrainWaves NRC allowed him to come full circle, back to his original interest in the mind.

Most recently, she worked in a youth center coordinating clinical and work readiness services for transitional age youth. Taylor is excited to merge her passions for technology and mental health and provide treatment that will allow patients to see real improvements and positive change in their day to day lives

Katie
Joniaux

Neuro Technician
_

Katie Joniaux’s lifelong fascination with science has deepened over the years. As she pursued her education, she discovered a passion for working with children as well, including those on the autism spectrum. Combining her love for science and her desire to make a difference in the lives of these kids, she realized that her true purpose lay in merging these two worlds, culminating in her work at Brainwaves where she is able to blend both together. In her free time Katie loves to travel and try new things. Language and communication have always been a passion of hers, leading Katie to spend time learning different languages because it allows her to connect with people from many different cultural backgrounds, and now allows her to provide more effective care for non-English speaking patients and families.
